SMART Plan
Specific - My goal for Industry Based Learning is to produce professional photos of my creative makeup and gain the knowledge I need to start my own business. I will produce a body of work that shows my development as a creative and reflection on everything I do. I will produce a weekly blog with reflective posts on all work and I hope to work with photographer to capture images of my makeup. Doing all of this will show the skills and knowledge I have gained throughout this BA Degree in Creative Enterprises and that I can work independently and follow my initiative.
Measurable - The assessment for this class is due the 22nd of April 2024 in the form of a 3000-word reflective essay. The goal is an overall A grade, but I will also be happy with a B or even a C. I will meet with my tutor Caron frequently throughout the year and receive feedback on my work as I go along. I will then receive my overall grade at a later stage after completing the whole unit.
Achievable - I know I am more than capable of achieving the results that I desire if I stick to my time scale plan and keep up with the tasks given out. . I cannot predict the future and I do not know if anything will happen to change my current plan but if I stick to it everything will go great.
Relevant - By doing this unit I get to show all the skills and knowledge I have gained in makeup and hair. I choose to do the degree as I want to learn to be a creative entrepreneur, and this is something I previously have no knowledge or understanding of how to do. After graduating I also plan to work in Theatre/Editorial/Fashion Makeup as my profession as it is something I am passionate about and truly get enjoyment out of.
Time Bound - I have 1 main deadlines for this unit that being the 22 April 2024. To make sure I meet this deadline I created a week-by-week timescale plan that I keep in my notebook and give myself weekly tasks that I must be completed within a certain timeframe period.

How do I plan to achieve?
For my first goal of passing my course, my plan is to try and keep on top of all the work and make sure I keep to the timetable I have created for myself for completing all the tasks. Every week I also make a to-do list where I will make a niche list for each class, and all the tasks I want to complete that week. If I keep to this plan, I know I will pass my course.
My second goal is growing my social media accounts. To do this I know I will need to post content consistently. I also need to work on my editing skills so I will be doing an online workshop to help me develop these skills and invest in some new equipment such a new ring light or soft box, camera stand and pc. I am currently saving so I can buy all these things. This is so I can better the quality of the content I am producing.
My next goal is to take on more clients as a freelancer. This ties in a little with growing my social media. By posting more regularly I am hoping to get hired more by people to do their makeup. Another thing that will help is that I am now available on the weekends meaning that I have the time now to take on clients. To draw them in I will offer a discount’s, bundles and loyalty cards. The idea being that they will really enjoy the service that I give them, and they will come back again.
My last goal is to do more photoshoots. I plan to do this my contacting local photographers and working with the photographers in my class. Using LinkedIn, I will use this to network and advertise my previous editorial work so that I can interact and hopefully be hired for various shoots.

How do I plan to achieve my goals?
Over the next few years these are my main goals that I hope to achieve. All of these goals are interlinked with each other so my plan to achieve them all is similar. I will start off with saving money, I don't think I want to take out a loan from a bank and I would rather work a part time job and then do freelancing on the side so that I can save money for renting or buying a space. As will have grown my social media I hope to be working with some brands, I will do this by reaching out to them via social media and email. I know that if I want to grow on social media, I will need to be consistent with posting. When I get the business up and running as well as being a content creator, I know that will need employees. I really want to offer a place that is open to alternative makeup artists and have chairs available that they can work in and bring in clients. I may also hire a personal assistant if I feel like I need one. My big goal is to move house so to do this I need to save up money and have a bit more of a stable income. So, I plan to do this by saving the money I will make from doing brand collaborations, my studio space and social media. If I keep on track with this plan, I should be able achieve all my goals. Obviously, there will be changes and bump along the road, all I can do is do my best to navigate these changes to the best of my ability.

How do I plan to achieve them?
My first goal is to get a job as a receptionist or in a marketing agency. I plan to apply to as many of these types of jobs as possible once I get my BA in Creative Enterprises. I feel that I need to work in one of these areas to help me grow even further and see all the things have learned being used in front of me. I will be fixing my CV and Cover letter also I feel both are outdated and need some improvement.
My second goal is to grow my social media accounts even further, though they are steadily growing, I want to focus more time on creating content for them. So, I will be dedicating more hours to it and as I have invested in lighting this means I can film at any time of the day now without worrying about having good lighting.
For my third goal, with the push on my social media I will be advertising myself and what I offer at the same time, this will then lead to more clients as I will be freelancing more and building up my client list.
With my fourth goal I plan to connect with more photographers in the Fife area via Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. I really enjoy doing photoshoots and want to continue to build a diverse portfolio of my work so I can eventually start to get my name out there and work with magazines and brands.
