March 19th – A reflection on filming day
Yesterday marked the filming of our pilot episode. I arrived at the studio at 11 to rendezvous with Tiffani before our shoot commenced. We went over the questionnaire and mapped out our filming agenda. Additionally, since we were incorporating a makeup segment, I ensured all health and safety protocols regarding contraindications that could occur. We had previously discussed the desired look, and I had drafted design plans for Tiffani's consideration.
Meanwhile, Stephanie was busy setting up the studio, arranging the cameras and microphones. Given the high value of the equipment and her expertise, I entrusted her with this task. Once the setup was complete, I arranged the filming space, including wiping down a table for my makeup kit and positioning a barstool-style chair for Tiffani.
Prior to the interview, I recorded the introduction. Admittedly, there were some light-hearted moments as nerves caused a few tongue-tied takes. Nonetheless, we eventually nailed it. Transitioning to the interview/makeover segment, there was an initial burst of laughter, reflecting our excitement and the novelty of the experience. Finding our rhythm took a moment, but once we did, it flowed effortlessly. Engrossed in the makeup process, I almost forgot about the cameras, achieving the relaxed atmosphere akin to interactions with my typical clients.
With the video wrapped, a wave of realization hit me—I had accomplished it! Reflecting on the past year, filled with its ups and downs, it's surreal to think that nearly a year ago, I was battling health challenges. Today, here I stand, pursuing my dreams, unfazed by past obstacles. University, producing my podcast and YouTube show—these were once distant aspirations, now tangible realities. Refusing to let pain dictate my path, I'm determined to seize every opportunity and make my ambitions a reality.
